"In urban traffic, due to their beneficial effect on environment, electric vehicles are an important factor for improvement of traffic and more particularly for a healthier living environment."   (1)

This is a phrase which says it all. There is more however: electric vehicles are the premier solution, not only because of their lack of emissions, their lack of noise, their better use of energy resources, their lower operation cost or whatever reason, but, in the first place, because they are ELECTRIC.
For those who still advocate other solutions, this may be a consideration:

"Therefore deal with your combustion engines, tattle of your fuels, slander and revile me. Believe you that this evil speaking will sadden me? It is not with petrol, nor with gases, it is not with vegetable oils or alcohols, not even with the vulgar fuels  that an able artist will participate in our great Work. I say that only ELECTRICITY is our matter, and I know what I write, and the searcher of all hearts knows that I write the truth."  (2)

The advantages of electric vehicles can be addressed in the Electric Vehicle Creed, originally devised by the "Electric Vehicle Association of America" (published in "The Central Station", June 1915). Today,  even after more than 80 years, this Creed has lost none of its value.
