For inner-city travels, trams or streetcars offer excellent services, while adding to the atmosphere and conviviality of a city. The demise of streetcar networks in many cities during the past decades, a trend which is now luckily reversing, has been a sad loss and has largely contributed to general urban decay. |
A tram on route 3 in Göteborg. This city on the west coast of Sweden has an excellent tram network. |
"Peter Witt" cars in Milano, Italy. These splendid trams were built more than 70 years ago and still give excellent services to the Milanese people. |
Another Milano tram in front of the Central Station. These vehicles are an unmistakeable part of the Milan cityscape. |
Old trams have their special charm. This is a "chocolate" tram from the Brussels Tram Museum, which still comes out every summer weekend. | Another old Brussels tram, a "green" one this time. I act as a conductor on these. |
