Saturday August 4
bruichladdichbowmore

Slept well after a tiring day, and left 10:30 for a very difficult march through knee-high heather and patches of bog, on the slopes of Maireabhal. Through the peat fields I reach the road by the end of the afternoon, and head for the Westwood inn, the only real ale pub on North Uist! The slow progress was a good thing for one, as I had initially planned to be here at lunchtime, but the pub would have been closed Saturday noon! Three Black Cuillins later I continue, leaving the road to pitch at Loch an Faing Buidhe (NF78976596). 7,7 miles today.
