Peaty Spirit 2010

Today a full day of road walking around Loch Indaal, first to Bruichladdich distillery, where I can taste one of their more peaty expressions. The road can often be parallelled by the beach, where cattle roam freely. A break for a pint at Bridgend and then on to the final distillery at Bowmore, and a celebratory dram after 12,5 miles today, or 80 miles for the whole trip.

Near the village centre one can camp on a site called Battery. The next day, take the bus to Port Askaig, and leave the island in style with the ferry to Oban, and on by rail.
