Limited climbs for today, we are on the
plateau. Good going, when reaching Langavatnet lake the track becomes
very busy with hikers carrying fishing gear. Also some horseriders!
Continue south towards the full-service hut at Sandhaug, reached after
16,5 km. The place is well visited and lively, the staff is friendly
(and gorgeous!). There is cool beer (at a reasonable price to Norvegian
standards), and the dinner is wholesome and excellent. The library
is stocked with old DNT yearbooks, some over a hundred years, which
make interesting reading including trip reports by 19th century Englishmen
and studies of the skull shape of Norvegian country folk. The evening
is nice, but during the night the rain sets in. |
