The rain lasted all night, I wait till it's over to get going by 1000. The climb to the Bealach Carn na-h-Urchaire is hard, particularly the higher bit where there is no path at all. Snow is everywhere, the fluffy kind where one falls through, never knowing what's under it: rock, more snow, bog, or a ice cold burn! The bealach is reached at 663 m, the highest point of my whole trip. The descent, on the north slopes, is as tricky, with snow patches, boggy ground and no path. A pitch is found near the junction of Allt an Fhithich and Allt Ailein (NN15089632). Would have been a nice spot if not for the miserable weather. Rain and storm go on all night, everything is wet and cold. Covered 5,5 miles today. |
