Sutherland Sands 2011

When I leave the bothy by noon, another walker from Glasgow drops in. After a chat and a brew I set on for the short four mile walk through Strath Shinary and along Sandwood Loch goes over slightly boggy grassland. The main concern are the insects however: midges, which are just irritating by their numbers, and clegs who really hurt.

I reach Sandwood Beach and find a not fully satisfactory pitch in the dunes.
