A short walk today: through the Druidibeag nature reserve, crossing the road and then through the machair to the Howmore Gatliff hostel, also housed in old thatched cottages, which I reach in the early afternoon. Some local walking to the chapel and cemetery ruins. The patrons at the hostel include some Germans, as well as two girls from Glasgow who are biking the islands and with whom I share some whisky. A mere 5,8 miles today.
