Peaty Spirit 2010

Back on farm tracks and past the sadly derelict farm at Gortantaoid, and passing a large herd of black Angus cattle at Killinallan farm (where the farmhouse was in an equally derelict state). The flat lands surrounding the tidal sands of Gruinart Bay provide good meadows and an excellent habitat for birds. Along the quiet B8017 road, I walk on passing the RSPB visitor centre, and over the hill to Loch Gorm. A pitch near the loch side seems nice on the map, but the area is very rough and tussocky, I even break my trusty walking pole there! Eventually I find a moderately decent pitch on the side of the loch. 12,5 miles today.
