Monday March 31
queensnoselochan Surprise in the morning: everything frozen, and the flysheet covered with ice, under a clear and splendid sky. I departed early for the walk through beautiful Glen Feshie, passing the Nose of the Queen (Sròn na Ban-righ), and having to ford the Feshie - by no way a small burn - not less than three times. I had a short break at the ruins of Ruigh-fionnthaig, being visited by the very investigative estate ponies before going on the steep climb to Lochan an-t-Sluic for lunch. Further west on the high, snowy road on the south flank of Carn Dearg Mor and descending to the Allt Bhran. I met the estate workers with their high mobility tracked vehicle who were busy burning heather. Soon I hit tarmac again on the Glentromie road. Near Bhran cottage I missed the footbridge and forded the Tromie, and finally settled on a nice spot on the shores of the Allt na Feinnich (NN74949096). A good day, with 13,5 miles. feshiehorseheather
