Last bacon in the morning and on through
the bog, slowly descending the upper part of Glen Nevis through magnificent
scenery, down to the Steall falls. From here a good
path was available, frequented by lots of walkers coming from the nearby
car park. The path through the Nevis gorge is considered dangerous for
the casual walker however. I changed my muddy trousers at the car park
and set on back to civilization, for another seven miles of road walking
all the way to Fort William to complete my trip as scheduled, where I
had a well-deserved pint in the
Volunteer Arms, where one old drunken patron remembered me from
my last year's visit! That made 12,5 miles for this final day. |
