The morning brings a descent to Corrie Hallie (Dundonnell), where the A832 is crossed. Soon again climbing up again, for a lunch brak at Loch an Tiompain, arriving above Strath More with a splendid view. Very steep descent to close to the banks of Loch Broom: we are almost at sea level here again! A short bit along the busy A835 (main road to Ullapool) as far as Inverlael, and then on the forest road until the abandoned settlement of Glensguaib (NH206852). An overgrown ruin, the entire area grown over with bracken, but still a beautiful patch of grass to pitch. The place however is infested with insects: on a few seconds I must endure a hundred midge bites! Rub a product (Nordic Summer, a Swedish speciality) on the skin, eat a pot oatmeal and then rapidly hide behind fly mesh! Today covered 12 miles. 119
