Rain throughout the night, but by 09.00 it has brightened up and it is time to move on, via the very calm tarmac road on the south side of Strath Carron down to Ardgay, looking forward to the first pub in a week time! The local pub was closed for renovation however, so one mile more to go to Bonar bridge to get a refreshing pint. Hence further along the A836, leaving it for the forest path through Maikle and Balblair Wood to Invershin, here too a pub! Crossing the foot bridge hanging at the side of the rail viaduct, and then still a short bit to the Carbisdale Castle youth hostel (NH574954). A splendid castle and the first warm water bath since a week! Always good roads, mainly flat, walked 15,4 miles. 259
